CARNIVAL OF MUSIC 2010
Caroline has recently performed with the Melbourne symphony Orchestra in Geelong. More recently she has performed Bach's Goldberg Variations at the Melbourne recital Centre. She is also performing at the Edinburgh Festival and in Europe before she returns to Australia to perform for The Carnival of Music. (There will be supper to follow the recital). Saurday 9th October 12.30pm : Community HaII : This year the Savoy Opera Company will perform excerpts from the repertoire of Gilbert' and Sullivan. The Company has promised to provide a varied program for the Carnival of Music and this event promises To be a highlight of the weekend. Saturday 9 th October 3.00pm: community HaII: The Australian Chamber strings will make its first: appearance in Barton Heads. A superb program has been promised, und features Spiros Rantos as the Director.
In the late afternoon there will be another ''Jazz at Jirrahlinga'' (We are deeply indebted to Mrs Tehree Gordon for the use of this venue). 'Scmbrose Automobile'. Supported by 'Almacknjack' will be the main band at (this event.) Saturday 9th October 8.00pm : community HaIl : Once again, the Melbourne Welsh Male Choir will delight the audience with an evening of great singing. Those who attended last year's concert by the Choir will attest: to this fact. Sunday 10th October 12.30pm: Community HaII: The Australian Youth Choir will provide the program for this event. It promises to be very interesting and varied. It is possible that The Australian Youth Dance group will clso entertain us. Sunday 10th October 3.0Qpm: Catholic Church: (Hitchcock Avenue) The Gerard Mack string Quartet will again perform for the Carnival of Music. This concert promises to be one of the highlights of the weekend. Sunday 10th October 5.30pm: Community HaIl : Asa result' of many requests, the 'More Than Opera' Company will perform the final concert' of the weekend. The title of this concert is ''OIe, Oo La La''. The repertoire is taken from French and Spanish opera, operetta, musicals and cabaret, and includes excerpts from Carmen, The Pearl Fishers, and Faust, as well as Les Misercbles, Offenbach, and spanish Zarzuela (light opera in Spanish style). The concert' will also include some swinging latin items, a medley of Edith Piaf songs, and also the stunning songs of French idol, Gilbert' Becaud.
