Senior Citizens Birthday Outing to Leopold Sportsman’s Club for lunch and a movie at the private Leopold Theatrette is on Monday 19 May, with the bus leaving the Barwon Heads Senior Citizens Centre (9 Clifford Pde) at 11.00 a.m. The “surprise” movie is a comedy starring Judi Dench in a film that has never been released on the commercial circuit. The cost to members is $5 plus the cost of the meal of your choice at the Sportsman’s Club. Book by adding your name to the list at the club or phone President Kel Parry 5254 3208.

Biggest Morning Tea: The Seachange Quilters are hosting a Biggest Morning Tea on Wednesday 21st, May at the Senior Citizens Centre in Clifford Parade, Barwon Heads. Beautiful quilts will be on d isplay and a variety of craft articles will be for sale. A delicious morning tea is provided and there will be a lucky door prize. 10am to 11.30am $5.00 entry, children are admitted free of charge. All proceeds go to Cancer Victoria. We would love to see you there.

BARWON HEADS ASSOCIATION Our next meeting will be on Monday, June 2 at 7.30pm in the Meeting Room at the Community Hall. Our topic for the evening will be “Women’s activities in our community”. See later issues for more information. This will be preceded by a business session in which residents and ratepayers are invited to raise matters of concern affecting our community.

Barwon Heads Vision Australia: Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday May 14th at 2pm in the Uniting Church Vestry.
Thankyou to the Ocean Grove Golf Club for hosting another successful Vision Australia Charity Golf Day. Thanks to the players & participants in the auction & raffle. Special thankyou to Veronica and Rod Barfoot & all helpers. $3,611 was raised.

Barwon Heads Bowling Club: There are a few places left on our five-day end-of-season trip to the Snowy Mountains starting on 19 May. The Barwon Heads Fine Music Society’s next concert will be held on Sunday, 11th May at 2.30pm in the Barwon Heads Anglican Church. 3 pianists, Sonoka Myake, Malcolm John & Dion Henman, will play Bach, Debussy, Mozart, Pachelbel & Brahms & a piece by Sony Chua for 6 hands! First-Sunday Special at All Saints' Church:
The First Sunday of each month, All Saints' will be holding a "slightly different" communion service, with more singing and more opportunity for prayer. Come and join us at 11am to sample the difference; cuppa coffee before, and/or cuppa soup after.

Barwon Heads Community Arts Garden: Is looking for old water tanks (to be used for raised garden beds), farm gates, sleepers or useful timber/ fencing material, a shed or old garage and a school portable to help build the infrastructure . Reduce, Reuse, Recycle- if you have any of these things and want to donate them to the arts garden call Meaghan on 5254 3006 to organise collection .

 Senior Citizens:
   The Club Needs a number of volunteer car drivers, on a regular or occasional basis, to provide car transport for a number of 80-year-old members of its Monday afternoon card playing group. These people, most of whom live alone, have acted responsibly in surrendering their driving licences and now depend upon others to get them to and from this important friendship and social group. Please phone club president Kel Parry 52543208 if you can help, or call at the Senior Citizens Centre, 9 Clifford Parade on any Monday afternoon.

 Guides are for girls (grade 3 and above) in both Barwon Heads and Ocean Grove.  Girls are encouraged to learn to work as a team, learn about camping, craft and the environment. Ocean Grove Junior Guides and Barwon Heads Junior Guides meet on a Monday night. Girls interested in Guides should call Helen Carruthers on 5254 1299.Guides are now selling Guide biscuits and if you would like to place an order please ring the above number.
