Barwon Heads Hotel site

This site was originally the location of the weatherboard, Victorian  Picturesque styled Coffee Palace, constructed in the latter 19th century.

A small round  room on the south end served as a Post Office, and there was a separate hall for  recreation.
The building was later renamed the Mt Colite Hotel, and the building was destroyed by   fire in the 1920s.

The present building was constructed soon after, and has experienced many alterations and additions over the years
